Two Folk Espresso
About This Spot
Stepping into Two Folk Espresso feels like arriving at a cherished neighborhood nook where the ritual of coffee is quietly celebrated. The pace is unhurried, inviting you to pause and settle into a moment of calm amid Hobart’s city hum. There’s a genuine warmth here, a sense that the space is crafted for easy conversations and gentle mornings, not for rush or spectacle.
Behind the counter, familiar faces greet you with a friendly nod, crafting each cup with care and a quiet pride that locals have come to appreciate. The café’s modest charm is rooted less in elaborate offerings and more in the thoughtful textures of experience—the smoothness of a well-steamed milk, the subtle layers in a mocha, or the comforting way the flat white feels in hand. It’s the kind of place where coffee blends seamlessly into the atmosphere, becoming part of the daily rhythm rather than an outlier.
The scent of freshly baked goods, often simple pantry-style delights, gently lingers nearby, tempting without overwhelming. These understated treats pair naturally with the coffee, hinting at a quieter kind of indulgence that comes not from novelty but from genuine care and familiarity.
What makes Two Folk Espresso particularly inviting is the way it fosters connection. It’s clear the team here values knowing their regulars, and visitors quickly sense that their presence matters beyond just an order. The room holds a friendly buzz—a blend of welcoming smiles and easy conversations—that encourages visitors to linger just a little longer. Whether you’re starting your day or seeking a midday pause, there’s an honest and unpretentious spirit that quietly anchors this space.

The coffee was pretty good and the team member was lovely but unfortunately the lid was faulty and my coffee ended up absolutely everywhere.

Very good speciality coffee, staff are also delightful. So yourself a favour and grab a Danish as well…

Best coffee i could find in Hobart, both the 'pretentious' and the sweet drinks were amazing. Shout out to the mocha. The owner(?) is incredibly friendly and vibey and I felt incredibly welcome coming here. The food options are just pantry baked goods but the morning buns are very tasty.

One of the best coffees available in the town. Very friendly staff and quick service. The smoothness of the milk is perfect. The standards has been kept high. I would recommend to give it a try at-least once

Coffee is just part of the overall experience. The coffee is really good. They know you and take the time to create a welcoming atmosphere. I would 100% recommend their coffee. They do a great 'magic' ask for one next time you want a coffee. (As long as you do milk).

I ordered a doppio expresso. So good. I will go again. Nice ambient. Nice people. Best coffee in Tasmania so far. Similar to Melbourne.
